How to get rid of Spiders

Happy Autumnal Equinox

With the arrival of Autumn, we welcome the cool days, cold nights, leaves falling from trees and spiders who don’t really care for the cold. It is that time of year again.

Every Fall the question resurfaces about how to get rid of spiders. So lets take a couple minutes and look at getting rid of spiders during the fall season change.

Why do spiders seem more abundant in the fall?

It really boils down to the temperature changes. By winter spiders left outside will die or be dormant and like many other insects autumn is nature’s signal that winter is coming, and it is time to prepare for the cold. Spiders are just looking for somewhere warm (much like mice and other small creatures). Our homes make a perfect place for a spider who is looking for a winter lodge.

Getting rid of spiders

The main reason a homeowner wants to get rid of spiders is to avoid potentially dangerous spider bites. When attacked a spider will use its teeth as a defense. The second reason so many home and apartment owners look to rid their homes of spiders is simple: spiders are creepy and scare people. I don’t like walking into a room only to see a brown recluse spider staring at me, or notice a black widow wander along a baseboard. Spiders just need to go. Luckily, there is a gold standard to get rid of spiders without pesticides or the exterminator.

Spider Traps effectively get rid of spiders

The easiest way and safest way for getting rid of spiders is using a spider trap. These small sticky glue traps will catch a spider (brown recluse or any common spider) that happens to wander into the trap. When enough spider traps are placed at strategic locations through out the home, the annoyance of wandering spiders is quickly reduced.

Proactively get rid of house spiders

So this fall, as nature runs it course, and spiders follow their instincts and search for cover, you can avoid the fright and worry by having spider traps on hand and ready to catch spiders before they try to make your home their home. Many companies sell spider traps, but the thing to remember is that spiders don’t wander that far, so MORE traps is a better approach over a couple expensive fancy traps.
We just checked and Cleaner Today is running a Spider Trap Special which includes 60 traps, enough for the entire fall and winter. Check them out.
